ABP, ABMS, AOBP and ABPD

American Board of Pediatrics (ABP) Information

The American Board of Pediatrics (ABP) certifies physicians in general pediatrics and offers 20 subspecialty certificates of special or additional qualifications. Certification by the ABP consists of an initial certification examination at the end of training and ongoing maintenance of this certification throughout the physician’s career. ABP certification is voluntary. Most AAP members are board-certified and carry the Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP) designation.  Click here to verify ABP board certification.

American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) Information

The American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) is comprised of the 24 medical specialty boards that provide certification for all specialties and subspecialties. American Osteopathic Board of Pediatrics (AOBP) Information

The American Osteopathic Board of Pediatrics is an organization within the American Osteopathic Association. The AOBP provides certification for general pediatrics and the following subspecialties:

  • Adolescent Medicine
  • Pediatric Endocrinology
  • Neonatology
  • Pediatric Pulmonology.
