We're assembling a new, diverse group of parents and caregivers to share accurate, science-based information with other families, both online and in the media. The mission is simple: to help bring credible information about children's health to all the communities you care about.

How it works
As a parent ambassador, you will receive regular updates from the AAP. The updates will feature timely and critical children's health information that you can use in your social media posts, blogs and videos.
Members of this new parent network also will receive professional media training. As a parent ambassador, you may get the opportunity to appear in national media outlets or on AAP's websites and platforms.
Parent ambassadors will be invited to semi-annual virtual meetings with AAP leadership and pediatric experts. We're asking for at least a year's commitment from our ambassadors.
Applications, which can be found at this link, are due by March 18. Semi-finalists will be notified and interviewed. We intend to make final decisions by May. We hope you'll join us!
Q&A
Q: What is the time commitment to be a parent ambassador?
A: This will vary, but we are looking for parent ambassadors who engage on social media platforms at least a couple of times a week. If a media request comes in, we may ask you to join an interview that day. Media training will be in the form of one-hour virtual trainings held four times a year.
Q: Will AAP parent ambassadors be paid?
A: No. This is a volunteer opportunity.
Q: What happens after I submit my application?
A: We will let you know that we got your application and then consider your application. We expect to notify semifinalists sometime late March or early April. AAP will then conduct a virtual interview with each semifinalist. We hope to choose our new parent ambassadors by May.
Q: If chosen, how long will I serve as an AAP parent ambassador?
A: We are asking for at least a year's commitment but we hope our parent ambassadors participate longer than that. Ambassadors should have children under age 18.
Q: What exactly would I do as an ambassador?
A: Ambassadors share accurate, science-based information with other families, on whatever platform they feel most comfortable. That could include posts on social media, blogs or in conversations with other parents and journalists.
